6th Grade Milestone: 

Made in the Image of God sticker

6th graders will receive a sticker to place on a mirror/water bottle or other highly visible place to remind them that they are "Made in the image of God". The transition from elementary school to middle school is a major change for 6th graders and their families, this sticker reminds them that, even when they are having rough days, God still loves them and they are valued. 

7th Grade Milestone: Faith Talk Cards

7th graders each receive twelve Faith Talk cards. These cards encourage discussion between the students and their families around a range of topics. The cards help to start conversation about faith, offering time to strengthen bonds and support among families. The conversations often lead to deeper discussion about issues or struggles the middle schooler may have.

8th Grade Milestone: 

CoLABorate Lutheran Student Bible

Bibles are an important faith resource. 8th graders receive a CoLABorate Lutheran Student Bible that has many features to assist with learning, understanding and comprehending the many fascinating stories and lessons the Bible has to offer. 8th graders will use this Bible during their confirmation years. The Bible also offers an opportunity for families to share a Bible study, favorite verse or to just read together.

9th Grade: Blessing of the Keys

Ninth graders and their families have intentional conversation about creating a “Driving Covenant” together. They will learn about what a covenant is and how God made a covenant with God’s people. The Driving Covenant is meant to set up good practices as ninth graders begin to drive on their own. During worship, ninth graders will be presented with a keychain that has a cross on it as a reminder that God is with them as they drive.

10th Grade: Confirmation

Tenth graders will complete their confirmation journey at a worship service during

Reformation weekend. Gathered with their families and confirmation mentors, tenth graders will affirm their baptismal promises. Tenth graders will also share their faith project with the congregation.

11th Grade: Devotional

Eleventh graders and their families will learn about devotionals. Devotionals are helpful tools to connect with God in intentional ways. During worship, eleventh graders will receive a devotional for high school students.

12th Grade Milestone: 

Hand-made Fleece Blankets


12th graders (seniors) are presented with a hand-made fleece blanket by their parents/guardians. With their families they receive a blessing and affirmation during worship, which helps to affirm that their church family, along with their primary family, will support and care for them now, during their transition in life and beyond. The blanket serves as a reminder of that, that they can take wherever they go.
